The AWEA policy team advocates for policies to promote wind energy and educates Members of Congress (MOCs) in Washington, DC and officials in state capitals throughout the country about wind power. AWEA has a number of events and initiatives for industry members and wind supporters to aid in the effort to gain support from elected officials.
Contribute to WindPAC
WindPAC is the Political Action Committee of the American Wind Energy Association. Its purpose is to help elect candidates to the U.S. Congress and state legislatures who support AWEA's legislative goals for growing wind power. By supporting WindPAC, AWEA members can join together to help elect candidates who understand the wind industry and share our concerns.
Attend Wind Power on Capitol Hill
AWEA Wind Power on Capitol Hill is a rare opportunity for AWEA members and others who want to help advance wind energy. You’ll participate in advocacy training and then put that training to work to educate legislators and their staff on the wind industry’s top policy initiatives at both the state and federal level. Your participation in Wind Power on Capitol Hill can make a huge difference in gaining support in Congress to keep American wind power growing.
Sign up for the Clean Power for America grassroots advocacy network
Elected officials are most interested in hearing directly from their constituents – people who are living and working in the areas that they represent. You have the power to speak up and let your officials know what actions they can take to expand affordable, homegrown wind energy in America.
You can sign up today to become part of our Clean Power for America advocacy network. Joining this network is free. As a Clean Power for America advocate, you will receive action alert emails from the AWEA policy team asking you to contact your representatives regarding important legislation in the U.S. Congress or in your state. These communications take only a few minutes, but make a big impact on elected officials when they see that they have their constituents’ support for, or opposition to, a particular bill.
