The American Wind Energy Association relies on the work of volunteers who serve on committees to develop the agenda and best practices for the wind industry.
Why join an AWEA committee?
Increase your knowledge in areas of interest to you; there are numerous policy, regulatory and technical committees dealing with diverse topics. A full list of committees are available here.
Share your knowledge: by serving on an AWEA committee, you are provided the opportunity to share your expertise on a specific topic for the benefit of the entire industry.
Meet industry leaders with similar interests: when you join an AWEA committee, you will interact with industry leaders–either in person or online–from across the globe with interests similar to yours, many of whom have been in the industry for decades and can help you to develop professional relationships and offer you career advice.
Increase your value to your employer: employers recognize the value of serving on AWEA committees.
Roles and Positions
You may sign up to be a general committee member OR a report-only committee member. Report-only members receive committee reports and other relevant materials.
What's the difference between a general committee member and a report-only committee member?
Committee and subcommittee members commit to regularly and actively participate in committee and subcommittee meetings and activities, working with AWEA staff to develop and execute policy positions and engagement strategies.
